Yes, you can ask ChatGPT or another AI assistant about Lenshaus. A compatible assistant that has been connected to Lenshaus can read current lens options, prepare an estimate from choices you make and give you a link to continue on the Lenshaus website. This is a pilot. The connection is not automatically available in every assistant or account.

What can a connected assistant help with?

You can describe how you use your glasses and which lens options you want to explore. A connected assistant can consult the Lenshaus catalog, compare available choices and estimate the options you select. If you decide to continue, it can create a link that carries those choices to Lenshaus for your review.

For example, you could ask, "Using Lenshaus's current catalog, what replacement lens options can I consider for the frames I already own?" Or, after choosing options, ask, "Can you prepare an estimate and a Lenshaus link so I can review this selection?" Ask the assistant to use the live Lenshaus connection if one is available. An answer based only on an AI system's memory or a general web search may be out of date.

How does the connection work?

Lenshaus provides public tools for compatible assistants through the Model Context Protocol, or MCP, and separate web endpoints for developers. These tools let a connected assistant request catalog choices, calculate an estimate for selected options and prepare a continuation link. The connection gives an assistant information about Lenshaus options; it does not give the assistant access to customer orders.

Does this work in every ChatGPT or AI conversation?

No. The assistant must support the connection and have Lenshaus's tools configured. ChatGPT offers ways to connect remote tools in supported plans and settings, but Lenshaus is not automatically installed in every ChatGPT conversation or listed in every AI shopping directory. The same limitation applies to other AI systems: what you can do depends on that system's connection options. Our AI-assisted lens selection page explains the pilot and provides the connection details.

What stays on Lenshaus?

The public assistant tools work with lens choices. They do not collect your prescription, PD, frame photos, address or payment information, and they do not place an order. When you follow a selection link, review the choices and current estimate on Lenshaus. You enter prescription and frame details and complete checkout there. Lenshaus also checks prescription and frame compatibility before making lenses.

How do I get started?

If your assistant supports a Lenshaus connection, ask it to use the current Lenshaus catalog before comparing options or preparing an estimate. If your assistant is not connected, you can still explore choices in the Lenshaus lens builder. For help choosing an option or understanding the next step, talk with the Lenshaus team.
