I've been making lenses for 17 years. Here's how mail-in lens replacement works at Lenshaus, from checkout to the day your glasses come home.
Short answer: you order online, and we mail you a protective kit with a prepaid return label. You send your frames to our lab. We fit new lenses to them and ship them back. Single vision lenses are $99, all in.
What does $99 all in cover?
- Polycarbonate lenses
- Standard anti-reflective coating
- The mailer, with a prepaid return label
- Free doorstep pickup where available (or drop-off with the carrier)
- Return shipping
- One free remake within 30 days
Progressive and bifocal lenses are $149, all in. Polarized and mirror finishes are available on progressive lenses too. Upgrades cost extra, like thinner materials, tints or premium anti-reflective coating ($45). Paid upgrades are priced in the builder, and you review your selections and total before payment.
Base prices and example upgrade prices: How much does replacing your lenses cost?
Step 1: Build your order online
- Pick your lenses in the lens builder.
- Add your prescription: upload a photo or PDF, or type it in.
- Missing your PD? See what to do if your prescription doesn't include PD.
- Not sure your frames will work? Send us a photo first.
Step 2: We mail you the kit
After checkout, we send a protective kit with a hard case, protective wrap and a mailer. A prepaid return label comes with it, along with a note that has a QR code. The QR code opens your private pickup page.
Step 3: Pack your frames and send them
- Put your frames in the hard case, wrap it and pack it in the mailer.
- Put the prepaid return label on the package.
- Want a doorstep pickup? Where it's available, scan the QR code on the note to open your private pickup page. Wait for our confirmation before you leave the package out.
- Or drop it off with the carrier shown on your label.
Before you pack:
- Photograph your frames and their condition.
- Tell us about any cracks, loose parts, glue or past repairs.
- Send only the frames.
Shipping includes coverage up to $100. That's not full-value insurance. Ask us before shipping a frame worth more, and read our frame condition and shipping policy.
Step 4: Our lab makes and fits your lenses
Your frames go to our lab at 2127 W 76th St, Hialeah, FL 33016. Lenshaus is online only, so please use the label we send and don't visit in person.
- We let you know when your frames arrive.
- We trace the frame you sent and cut the lenses to fit it.
- If anything about the frame needs a closer look, we contact you before production.
Step 5: Your glasses come home
- Your finished pair is inspected, cleaned and packed.
- We let you know when it ships. Return shipping is included.
- Details: shipping policy.
How long will my glasses be away?
- Lab time: 5 to 7 business days after your frames arrive.
- Shipping: the trip to the lab and back adds time.
- Need it faster? Expedited lab processing is $24.95 per order, covers every pair, and takes 3 to 4 business days in the lab.
Tip: keep a backup pair handy if you wear your glasses every day.
Do I need a prescription?
- For prescription lenses, yes. Use your current, valid prescription.
- Not sure it's current? Ask your eye doctor before ordering.
- Non-prescription lenses don't need one.
What if something isn't right?
- Lenses made wrong: manufacturing errors are corrected separately at no charge, including necessary shipping, and don't use up your free remake.
- Prescription doesn't feel right, or you can't adapt: every pair, prescription or not, includes one free remake within 30 days. Contact us first. Approved remakes include prepaid ground shipping both ways. Drop your securely packed glasses with the carrier shown on your label. There's no pickup or mailer charge for this benefit.
- The free remake doesn't cover scratches, accidental damage, loss, theft, frame repairs, changes of preference or lens upgrades.
- For scratches and accidental damage, add optional Lens Care when you order: $15 per pair for one year or $25 per pair for two years. A new mailer is paid separately for each Lens Care claim.
Full terms: returns, remakes and warranty.
